Spring Reading

We enjoyed an intimate gathering Saturday night. Marti, Ben and I read our pieces—an essay and two novel first chapters respectively. Everyone in the audience participated in the prompt exercise. We wrote for five minutes and then got up and shared. I forgot to take a picture of my husband, Bryan who participated, and took … Continue reading »

Winter Session 2 Reading

BWW writers rule. We read to a packed bookstore tonight and had so much fun sharing our stories about “magically delicious Irish dicks,” abusers, narcissists, bad bosses, banshees and telepathic bitches. Procrastination as Process

Last night we reconvened to begin anew. Lucky 13 and all that. Seriously though, it was wonderful to return to The Spiral Bookcase and not only write, but discuss writing. The process. The pain. The procrastination. It used to be I beat myself up for not writing the way I imagined the pros did it—every … Continue reading »

Winter Session 2 Details

Last night was the final meeting of Fall Session 1. The five of us agreed that it was a success, with one caveat—Daniel would like to pontificate for ninety minutes at the next reading because five was too constraining for him. Consider yourself warned and bring a seat cushion.

Fall Session 1 Reading
